New info on Ethan

We received an email from our SW with Ethan's updated measurements. Greg had asked her about it early in the week because we had received an email stating that they would send out updates on COP children before the parents travel. Lisa (SW) thought that we would probably receive it closer to time of travel but a couple of days later had the info for us. Could this be a good sign? He isn't too far behind Hannah. She is about 36 inches and 32 lbs.

Height - 33 inches
Weight - 26.5 lbs

With our move to the new house Hannah has told us that she does not like her new room. We have decided to have her and Ethan share a room for now and just make the other bedroom a playroom. We are hoping this will help get Hannah to sleep in her bed once Ethan gets here. She will fall asleep in the living room at night. We put her in her bed. She wakes up to go potty then finds Daddy and sleeps in the floor near him. Crazy.

6 Months Waiting

Today is our 6 month DTC anniversary. Verna sent me a nice graphic to post but I was not able to save it to my computer at this time. I have some wonderful friends that are keeping us in their prayers. I need them daily. This wait has been much harder than Hannah's wait. I will rejoice when I am able to hold Ethan in my arms.

I want to thank everyone that has visited The Blog Fairy and requested a new look for their blogs. We are so thankful for all that you are doing. We will be able to tell Ethan that many people had a hand in bringing him home. Be praying for another fundraiser that we might be doing. Gwen Oatsvall told us about this one. We are looking into having a pancake breakfast at Applebee's. Greg is waiting on a call back from the marketing guy on the details about it.

I am getting ready to send Ethan's care package to him. I just finished putting all of the pictures in the little album and labeled them. I hope I got the labels correct. I am going to try and get it sent off this Saturday.

Yesterday was Greg and mine 9 year anniversary. We did not due much. All three of us went downtown to this Irish pub. I had been craving these eggs (Scotch Eggs) that they have. They take boiled eggs and wrap them in sausage and bread crumbs. Then they are deep fried. OK, not too good for the cholesterol but I don't get them that often. They are really good.

Tomorrow is Greg's 37 birthday. We will go out to eat tomorrow night to celebrate. We have cake at home already. We might even go out to "honk up some cows."

Fundraiser

One of our friends that we traveled with in China when we got Hannah is doing a fundraiser for us. Verna (the Blog Fairy) is going to donate the funds that she raises from creating blog templates to our fundraising for Ethan's adoption. We are very touched by Verna's thoughtfulness. Please check out her template site. I have placed it in my sidebar. Oh, Verna is the one that created my lovely template. I told her what I would like and she went from there. She is very talented and taught herself. You rock Verna.

News on Our Wait

We received news from our social worker. It appears there has been a snag in our cases process. Please keep this in your prayers. Also, we are still a little short on our funds. Please also keep that in your prayers. Well, that is it for today. Nothing more at this time.

New pictures of Ethan

These pictures are compliments of Monica. Their daughter Mercy is from the same orphanage as Ethan. Monica had seen my blog before they left for China. She took these pictures for us while they were visiting the orphanage. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness. These pictures have helped lift my spirit. I love those eyes. He looks happy. I could never mistake him for anyone else with those ears. I think the wait might be a little more bearable now.

Monica, thank you so much for these wonderful pictures. I will be calling you soon to talk about everything.

Just an update

I have not been posting lately because I just do not feel like there is much to post about. It has been 5 months since sending in our letter of intent to adopt for Ethan. I emailed our SW last week for clarification on what we our waiting on next. I miss understood the letter that was sent with our package. Because we did not have a LID when we sent the letter in the first things we are waiting on is a pre-approval letter. They say that it usually comes within 5 months. A month later is when the TA usually comes. Our SW has called Grand Rapids to see if our case is on track.

The other day we were driving home and talking about Ethan. Hannah said "Ethan's never coming. He won't get here." It was so pitiful. She is also ready for her brother to get here.

I did receive a post from Monica. She just picked up her daughter from Xinxiang SWI. This is the same orphanage that Ethan is at. She thinks she might have pictures of Ethan to share with us. It will be so great to see some pictures of him.

Another saying of Hannah's. On that we live in the country you cannot drive anywhere without passing a field of cows. Greg has this habit of honking a live stock or and kind of wild life. While he and Hannah were out driving around the other day he started honking at cows. Now when we pass cows and horses she says "honk up the cows (horses)." The things that children say. So go out and honk up some cows and think of Hannah.
